A classic triangular crochet granny shawl with a simple border, in the colours of the progress pride flag. It's fabulous, works up quickly and is one of those great crochet projects that doesn't take a lot of brain power; you can crochet away mindlessly in front of the tv, on the bus, in the pub - wherever!

With the Pride Comic Art Festival 2024 wrapped up and the images delivered, now seems like a good time to look back on the photos I took!

I’ve attempted to learn to crochet on four separate occasions over the past decade, and the first three of those occasions ended up with me giving up in frustration. My rows were always so uneven, because I couldn’t figure out which parts of the yarn were stitches and consequently ended up crocheting into every gap I could see, which mostly just left me with a huge mess. Usually I’d spend a few hours trying to learn before deciding crochet was just too hard

A lot of the public events I photograph tend to be Bristol-based, so it was lovely to take my camera along to Trans Pride in Manchester!

Weddings can sometimes be a huge production, so every time I meet a couple who want to take things slowly, I know I'm in for a lovely time!

To this day, my creative headshot session with Kirsty Jones - all the way back at the start of 2022 - feels like an absolute classic.
