gig & Live music photography

I have six years of professional gig photography experience, covering the Bristol music scene and beyond. I am currently one of two house photographers at St George's Bristol, and have also had the pleasure of working at events and venues such as The Exchange, Bristol Folk Festival and Bristol Pride. On the other side of the scale, I've also worked grassroots gigs in a number of Bristol's pubs and cafes, a very cosy gig in a tiny Bath bookshop, and even home performances with an audience of two!

I'm extremely passionate about the music scene in Bristol - having worked FOH roles in venues over a number of years - and LOVE the challenge of working at gigs. Ideally I like all my photographs to tell a story, and tend to produce documentary-style images that really get across the vibe of the event; in particular I adore photos which show musicians caught up in a moment, or audiences having an amazing time.

Livestreams, recordings, Behind the scenes

Since the onset of the covid-19 pandemic, I've also become used to photographing livestreams and gig recordings. I love the opportunity to take behind-the-scenes style photos - and excel at it, since it fits well with my natural, documentary style - which show the process of creating a gig for the screen instead of a live audience. Since August 2020 I have been the official photographer for Open Collab, a monthly improvised poetry and music livestream, which features participants from all over the world!

If you would like to know more about hiring me for a gig, livestream or recording, please see my rates below and get in touch!
